Panda - The Cloud Security Company - uncovered the cyber-crime black market of IT threats designed to steal bank details. The prices for captured information starts from $2.

PandaLabs once again proves that cyber criminals constantly develop their market. The latest report shows the prices for data which can be use for illegal transactions. Hackers sell them on internet forums and in e-shops (!). A lot of "offers" include the data of credit cards from around the world. These are the most logins, passwords, credit cards numbers, doubled debit cards etc.

Selected prices for confidential information:

  • Credit card data - from $2,
  • Cloning of credit cards - from $180,
  • Data bank - from $80.

The passwords for accounts that have been used through the payment systems are more expensive. The report shows that the data to access the account with balance of $82,000 is worth just $700!

Black market with stolen e-banking data is growing rapidly and (unfortunately) meets the needs of its customers. Competition is high, so the criminals are still looking for easier ways to capture data. Moreover, they offer lower prices for our confidential details. The biggest responsibility for the security of our information belongs to us.

- The report warns about increasing illegal business: now hackers don't steal data for themselves, but they sell it and find clients. All Internet users must be careful and follow the basic rules of e-security - said Adrian Tarnowski from CertyfikatySSL.pl.

Just follow a few rules to secure your data:

  • Sign new cards immediately as you receive them,
  • Do not share your passwords, PINs, etc. with others,
  • Do not send confidential information via e-mail, SMS or by telephone,
  • Destroy the correspondence that include your name, address, account number etc.,
  • Always check if the websites you share data through, are encrypted,
  • Trust only trustworthy SSL certificates,
  • Never let the browser remember your private data such as passwords,
  • Save receipts and compare them with your bank statement,
  • Update your anti virus program.
